Works with warm ash but horrible suction for priceCan't run to long even when not drawing ash. Motor gets hot and will shut down now and then. Let it sit a few minutes and off you go again.Hose too small, plugs up every time it gets a small piece of bark, etc.Want to return.The filter set up works great. Ash is very fine and the large surface area of the filter allows for good suction and prevents ash from blowing out the exhaust. Suction is fine - but would prefer (and would pay for stronger motor/suction). Overall very satisfied. I use this on a standard fireplace - really helps me keep up with the ash removal.Works perfect to clean out a pellet stove. We also use it to clean out our wood stove. We mostly shovel out the ash but hold the wand to suck up any airborne particulates. Very easy to clean out as well as light enough to move around and the perfect size to fit in a closet.This Vacuum worked fairly well while it lasted. For it to die 15mths in is way to soon considering the cost of the unit. The suction could be better, but is OK as long as you empty the canister and clean the filters every couple of uses. Basically I got one season of use out of this unit. Should have been better.Way better than the last one we had .I purchased this vac hoping to not have to shovel out the ash anymore.However, on first try, the hose clogged with even the smallest piece of wood or clump of ash. I had no problem getting my money refunded.Motor overheats before you are even done cleaning half of the fireplace then turns off and you have to wait before it will turn on again. Suction gets clogged easily then has no suction at all,
